Know Your Rights: Stay Independent with Assisted Living-

Thursday, January 26, 2023
2 P.M. to 3 P.M. CST
In 2019, Minnesota passed sweeping legislation that established the housing option of Assisted Living. Under the statute, Assisted Living is meant to allow people to have access to onsite staff to provide for care needs, both medical and otherwise, while allowing residents to maintain their independence in personal and private apartments. This presentation will introduce the rights provided under this law such as your right to quality care and protections from wrongful termination along with resources to turn to if you believe those rights are being violated.

SMRLS LAOP is funded under contract with the Southeastern Minnesota and Minnesota River Area Agencies on Aging and Trellis as part of the Older Americans Act.

Please contact benjamin.kaufman@smrls.org if you wish to learn about future LAOP presentations via e-mail.
