Volunteer Attorney Program Supervisor
Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services, Inc. (SMRLS) is seeking a Volunteer Attorney Program (VAP) Supervisor located in its St. Paul, Minnesota office. The VAP supervisor will oversee and support the staff and work of the Volunteer Attorney Program.
This position has primary responsibility for the management and operation of the SMRLS’ Volunteer Attorney Program and supervision of SMRLS’ Volunteer Attorney Coordinators. The VAP Program Supervisor is responsible for directing the programs recruitment of pro bono volunteers, volunteer recognition, case placement and clinic operations.
ELAP (Education Law Advocacy Program) Staff Attorney
Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services Inc. (SMRLS) is seeking an ELAP staff attorney for any of its Minnesota offices. This is a new position funded by a grant through the Legal Services Corporation to expand SMRLS’ capacity to represent students who need legal assistance with accessing the educational services they are entitled to. This grant is funded for eighteen months and SMRLS will actively be seeking additional funding sources to continue this program when the initial grant expires. ELAP provides free civil legal services to enable client students to remain in school and to receive the appropriate educational programs, services and accommodations called for under the law to enable school progress and success.

This position will be based in the St. Paul Midway office location. The paralegal will provide support to attorneys in immigration law cases. The paralegal will provide representation for low income immigrant victims of domestic violence and violent crimes in U and VAWA cases, U visa cases, U visa adjustment of status cases, and other types of immigration cases.
